{"id":2149,"date":"2019-04-04T10:24:32","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T10:24:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ipi.si\/?p=2149"},"modified":"2019-04-04T10:24:32","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T10:24:32","slug":"we-need-minimal-standards-of-exceptions-for-education-and-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ipi.si\/en\/we-need-minimal-standards-of-exceptions-for-education-and-research\/","title":{"rendered":"We need minimal standards of exceptions for education and research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.communia-association.org\/2019\/04\/03\/sccr-38-communia-general-statement-exceptions-limitations\/\">statement<\/a> was given by Teresa Nobre &#8211; a representative of Communia, which is a permanent observer of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR), taking place <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wipo.int\/edocs\/mdocs\/copyright\/en\/sccr_38\/sccr_38_1_prov.pdf\">this week<\/a> at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva.<\/p>\n<p>Such international law is TERA (<a href=\"http:\/\/infojustice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/tera11152018.pdf\">Treaty on Copyright Exceptions and Limitations on Education and Research Activities<\/a>), that was drafted by 15 civil society organizations, amongst which also IPI, and endorsed on 25 September 2018 on the global congress \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/infojustice.org\/globalcongress2018\">IP and the Public Interest<\/a>\u201d that took place at the American University Washington College of Law.
